Quantum BL Lamps

PestWest manufactures units using only high quality parts for long life and reliability. All PestWest units feature Quantum BL shatterproof tubes (except SunDew Fly Lite and Titan Alpha); these have been chosen for a reason.

PestWest Quantum BL tubes peak at a wavelength of 365 nanometres and are optimised to concentrate more of the UV output in the band most attractive to flying insects. Making the tubes 100% more effective and 40% more powerful than standard UV Tubes.

Using fly control products which are fitted with Quantum BL shatter resistant tubes with Teflon® G fluoropolymer coating as standard, or as replacements provides the easiest and safest solution for significantly reducing the risks of contamination from glass breakages.

UVA-Meter

Follow the light to PestWest
A hand-held easy to use instrument which measures the ultra-violet output of EFK lamps, giving you an instant indication of lamp effectiveness and remaining life. Most lamps are replaced at the beginning of the insect season but their output should be monitored continually to ensure that output is adequate between scheduled lamp replacement. The new UVA Meter is the latest PestWest innovation to make sure that lamp output can be measured easily and units are sited in optimum positions. Not all manufacturers’ lamps maintain adequate performance throughout the year and therefore their efficacy cannot be guaranteed to be at optimum levels all year around. The PestWest UVA Meter is an easy-to-use monitor that can provide a rapid indication of the condition of UV lamps in any electric fly trap. The UVA Meter measures lamp condition quickly with no calculations necessary. The instant and clear readout enables service technicians, installers and EHOs, who need to check whether a fly trap is operating at optimum performance, to record output using the simple 1-10 scale. In addition, the moving bar of LED lights changes colour according to the condition of the lamp, ideal to give an indication of lamp condition at a glance. The UVA Meter is designed with the user in mind. The size of a mobile phone, it can be carried around conveniently and with a lanyard facility for ease of use when in difficult situations e.g. at the top of ladders.

Bio-Gel

Bio-Gel is a unique, biologically enhanced formula to remove organic debris. Bio-Gel reduces foul odors and improves drain flow and is safe for all drain lines. It contains natural materials commonly found in the environment and is ready to use and offers superior hard surface cleaning.

By removing organic debris, Bio-Gel assists the flying insect management program by removing the food and breeding source of many fly species, including Drosophila Sp.

Bio-Gel should be used as a programmed approach in conjunction with professional sticky board UV fly killers and baited fly monitoring traps such as Demi-DiamondTM.
